It’s time for a #MuseUp again in Berlin!
In 2014, the year of the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, the Stadtmuseum Berlin is focusing on a very exciting topic: West-Berlin.
The Exhibition “WEST:BERLIN | An Island in search of the mainland” is the first retrospective of its kind. West-Berlin, for more than fourty years, was an “Island of freedom”, highly substituted “Window of the West”, biotope and cosmopolitan city at the same time. With the ending of the German separation, the divided city lost its prestige, special status and symbolic charge.
But in the meantime, the ‘City West’ starts to shine again. More than 500 exhibits and medial productions wait for you for an emotional “time travel” with unexpected associations and encounters, rediscoveries and surprises.
You are invited by the Stadtmuseum to a special tour of the exhibition on the 20th November 2014 at 6 pm!
